Job Title: Payroll Officer
Reports to: Compensation and Benefits Business Partner

Location: Metamorphosis, Attica, Greece

The potential candidate will join our Payroll team and will be responsible to ensure our payroll expenses and taxes are paid correctly and on time. She/he will also calculate employees’ compensation, updating our internal payroll Databases/ERP and ensuring timely payments and full legislative compliance.

To be successful in this role, the potential candidate should have a flair for numbers, be able to handle sensitive information and be familiar with labour legislation.


Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system upgrades

  • Collect electronically monthly time sheets

  • Prepare employees’ compensation by the end of each month using payroll software

  • Calculate bonuses and allowances

  • Schedule bank payments, distribute payment statements and gather signed receipts (digital or paper)

  • Report on payroll figures and monthly KPIs

  • Ensure wages and tax with holdings comply with regulations

  • Answer questions about compensation, benefits, taxes and insurance deductions

  • Handle dismissals and retirements following company’s policies and law requirements

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, HRM or other related fields

  • Proven work experience as a Payroll Officer or similar role with more than 2 years of experience. Ideally, employed in a multinational company with more than 500 employees.

  • Experience with Softone Payroll - Panorama is a must

  • Excellent use of Google workspace (Sheets, Docs, etc) or MS Office (Excel)

  • Strong maths skills with an ability to spot numerical errors is a must

  • Excellent knowledge of labour legislation and regular followup in any changes

  • Time-management skills and ability to work under pressure with strict month end deadlines

  • Strong analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills. Ability to work under own initiative and also be a good team player

  • Presentation, reporting and communication skills (written and verbal) both in English and in Greek language

  • Ability to handle confidential information
